My top 5 green beauty makeup picks...

Updated: Jun 8, 2018

This is tough. I'm not the most decisive of people anyway and, far from what I was expecting when I switched to using natural organic products, there are so many stellar ones out there now that rival (and often trump) their mainstream counterparts it is really really hard to chose. But if you are thinking of dabbling in a little green beauty and were to ask me what you should spend your hard earned money on to get you going then these would be my top picks.

I love love love a highlighted cheekbone and this product instantly stole my heart. It really delivers. Its also a multi-tasker and can be used as a standalone highlighter, eyeshadow, bronzer, lipstick or mixed into other products to warm up the tone. Its a cult classic and this luminous rose gold, organic, coconutty pot of heaven will make you look like a goddess. It will be a staple in my kit FOREVER!

Available at Beyorg for $340HKD

For me, foundations were where I was worried the products available in the green beauty world wouldn't deliver. Without those silky silicons I was sceptical that natural foundations would tick all the boxes when it came to colour, coverage, texture and durability. Luckily I had no need to worry because Kjaer Weis has really nailed it. Her creme foundation can be applied lightly for a sheer look or layered up for full coverage. Thanks to the sweet almond seed, coco and jojoba oils it glides on beautifully and continues to hydrates the skin whilst you wear it. She has a really good colour range for all skin shades and tones and the packaging is luxurious and refillable so it ticks the eco-friendly box too!

The compact case and foundation are available for next day delivery to HK from Net a porter for $535 but annoyingly they don't sell the refill plates. You can however order both the compact and the separate refills from UK based company Content Beauty. Refills are £30GBP/$313HKD. Delivery takes longer but its free if you spend over £30GBP.

If you don't know Ilia, lipsticks are their thing, plain and simple. They have gorgeous rich, on-trend pigments in chic recyclable cases. They put ethics and sustainability at the forefront of their brand and the bioactive organic ingredients mean they don't just look amazing but are treating your lips whilst you wear it. My current favourites are the deep pinky nude 'The Brides' and 'Wild Child' which is a bright fiery red. You just can't go wrong!

Available at Dr Koala for $270 online and in their TKO store and online at Net a Porter also for $270 + $50 delivery.

Lilylolo are one of my favourite brands for eyes. I also love their pencil eyeliners. Unfortunately there are limited palettes available in the beauty world so you can imagine how happy I was to find that Lily lolo developed three different sets. The one pictured is 'Pedal To The Metal' which has beautiful array (eight to be exact) of shimmery metallic and matte colours. They also have a more wearable one for all skin tones called 'Laid Bare' and 'Smoke & Mirrors' which, as I'm sure you can guess, is designed to help you create the perfect smokey eye. The eyeshadows can be applied with a wet brush for stronger pigment and a more intense look.

Available to buy online from Content Beauty for £29.40GBP/$307HKD with free delivery.

There are a lot of beautiful blushes out in the green beauty space but, as I'm a massive fan of the natural glowing skin look, I adore cream to powder blushes that give a hint of colour without looking too made up. JI's cream blush in 'connection' is a beautiful peachy shade that leaves you with a radiant, dewey, hydrated youthful complexion. She has a great range of colours though to suit all skin tones from soft pink to boozy rose.

Available to buy at Mandarin Oriental Salon and Dr Koala for around $280
